The CENTRAL Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday conducted searches at four places two days after an FIR was registered against the Commandant of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Lucknow, on allegations of possessing assets disproportionate of about Rs.5.61 crore. Apart from New Delhi, searches were conducted at three places in Uttar Pradesh: Lucknow, Noida and Mirzapur.
The case against the officer, Neeraj Kumar Pandey, was registered two days ago at the Lucknow branch of the CBI. Further investigation is on, CBI sources said.
According to a CBI statement, during the searches, real estate investments were found in Ranchi, Varanasi and Noida.
He said deposits were found in bank accounts amounting to Rs 1.02 crore and transactions of nearly Rs. 6.18 million have been found in the bank account or accounts of the agent, family members and companies controlled by them and various documents related to acquisition of movable/immovable property including jewellery, purchase of shares etc.
