On Sunday, March 19, Delhi Police officials knocked on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s door regarding a statement. During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul made a statement referring to an incident related to the sexual exploitation of women. Delhi Police now wants to take action by taking information from him in the same regard.
However, the Congress sees this as an act to bully Rahul. During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul met countless people and shared their problems with Rahul. How can Rahul have any record of them? Please say that Rahul Gandhi is currently being targeted by the BJP and the central government. BJP MPs stalled Parliament for five days to demand an apology over Rahul Gandhi’s speech in London. The opposition wants to raise the issue of Adani but the government does not allow it to be discussed. BJP president JP Nadda even alleged that Rahul has become part of the anti-national toolkit.
According to a report in NDTV, senior Delhi Police officials had reached Rahul’s residence in connection with his notice sent on March 16. The Delhi Police had sought information through tip-offs from women who had complained of sexual harassment. Apart from mentioning it in his speeches, Rahul Gandhi had also put it on social media. The Delhi Police took cognizance of the social media post and sent some questions to Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi is yet to answer them. Police said Rahul Gandhi had made a statement to this effect in Srinagar during his Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Sources in the Delhi Police say that if Rahul does not give the details, another notice will be served on the Congress leader. As this is a sensitive matter involving people’s lives and safety, the police team is working to collect the right information so as not to tamper with evidence and witnesses.
