Kolkata, Mar 19 (PTI) Normal train services were partially affected at Howrah station on Sunday due to the derailment of a coach of a local EMU train, a South Eastern official said Railway (SER).
The official said no one was injured in the incident.
The local 38908 Amta-Howrah EMU derailed around 9.45 am while entering platform number 19 of the new Howrah station complex, they said.
According to the official, a rescue vehicle was immediately dispatched to recover the derailed coach and restore normal services.
Due to the accident at Howrah station, SER decided to terminate the operation of three express trains – 18044 Bhadrak-Howrah Baghajatin Express, 12814 Tatanagar-Howrah Steel Express and 18004 Adra-Howrah Shiromoni Express in Santragachi station.
Some South Eastern Railway local trains were delayed due to the incident, the official said.
