ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Electricity Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Thursday hiked electricity tariff by Rs 7.90 per unit.
The increase comes under the heading of fuel adjustment for the month of May. Also, this hike will be applicable for July bills as well.
However, the hike will not be applicable to K-Electric’s consumers.
On June 27, NEPRA held a public hearing on the petition for hike of Rs 7.96 per unit.
Despite the high cost of electricity, the deficit has increased to 6,819 MW. Power outages are observed for up to 12 hours in various parts of the country.
