New Delhi: A college professor surprised everyone by returning Rs 24 lakh of his salary to the government.
An assistant professor of a government university in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, India, has returned Rs 2.4 million to the government.
Assistant Professor Dr. Lal Kumar returned his two-year and nine-month salary of about Rs. 2.4 million to the university administration in one go. He said that not a single student came to study with him during this entire period, so there is no justification for taking salary. Professor Lalin teaches Hindi language.
When the university administration refused to withdraw the salary, Professor Lillian threatened to quit his job, after which the administration had to withdraw the salary.
