Maharashtra case registered against warehouse owners for keeping harmful chemicals in Thane

Said: Police in Maharashtra’s Thane district have registered a criminal case against two house owners for allegedly keeping harmful chemicals worth Rs 1.27 crore without permission.

A police spokesperson told PTI that a team of police personnel raided the house at Purna in Bhiwandi area on Wednesday and seized the goods kept there. Police did not say what chemicals were kept in the warehouse, but said they were harmful to people.

The official said that the chemicals were being stored illegally in the barrel despite the fact that the owner of the barrel knew that any accident due to the chemicals would be life-threatening. The police said that a case has been registered against both persons according to the relevant provisions. (Agency)
