KARACHI: The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) has ruled out all possibilities of restoring the old master’s program and the two-year degree program across the country, saying that the degree period will also continue in the form of ‘a 4-year BS.
According to the details, HEC rejected the possibility of reviving the old Master’s program and two-year degree program across the country, including Sindh, and upheld the decision to continue the third-year associate degree (ED) programs BS and two years. .
HEC Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmad says that the old Master’s program (MA, MSc and MCom) while the two-year degree program (BA, BSc and BCom) will not be restored under any circumstances. Now we do not look back, but try to correct the shortcomings of the new programs that have been introduced.
He said that instead of the old master’s and two-year degree program, HEC has created these programs keeping international standards at the forefront and now these programs will continue whether any notification has been issued or not.
