When Imran Khan left for a court appearance in Islamabad, the Punjab Police raided Zaman Park in his absence. History is witness that we have learned nothing from the situation. What was done in the past with the most popular politician Sheikh Mujibur Rehman at his Dhan Mandi residence, has been done at Zaman Park, the residence of Imran Khan. The sanctity of the chador and four walls has been violated. Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi was present in the house along with a few women. This is the worst display of police brutality. What the caretaker government of Mohsin Naqvi and Aamir Mir is doing at the behest of Zardari and Sharif will be written in black letters in history. The black mark these two journalists have put on their character by being part of the Mix-Achar ruling coalition project cannot be removed even after hundreds of rains.
When Imran Khan appeared in the Lahore High Court yesterday, it was decided between the lawyers of the Punjab government and Tehreek-e-Insaf that Imran would appear in the Islamabad court the next day. The Islamabad High Court had also quashed the session judge’s order and the next day Imran Khan left Zaman Park for Islamabad. After that, this operation in Zaman Park was unjustified. This is one of the worst examples of state terrorism. This will have dire consequences.
Aamir Mir, who is the caretaker information minister, said that the words about Tehreek-e-Insaf workers coming from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are condemnable. It is objectionable and shameful that a minister of Punjab calls political activists from another province, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as terrorists. It is a worrisome practice for those defending human rights in Pakistan to remain silent bystanders to Operation Zaman Park. Earlier, the martyrdom of so-called human rights leader Arshad Sharif and the arrest of Imran Riaz, Shahid Aslam, Jameel Farooqui, Azam Swati and Shehbaz Gul were also kept quiet. Thus, the hatred of these so-called human rights leaders has become prominent. After today, nothing else I say will be taken seriously.
In this whole situation, the last hope of justice is the Supreme Court of Pakistan, because the ruling Mix Achar coalition and its enablers have been exposed. They know that their defeat in the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections is on the wall. They do not want to hold elections at any cost and openly disregard the Supreme Court ruling. If even now the Supreme Court does not implement its orders and does not allow Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader Imran Khan to conduct his election campaign, then anarchy will spread in the country and after today, the law and constitution of pakistan will be governed by powerful political people and theirs. He will remain a slave in the house of the facilitators.
