Kapil Sharma starrer ‘Zwigato’ directed by Nandita Das released on Friday along with Rani Mukerji starrer ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’ and ‘Kabzaa’. While the film got decent reviews and made headlines because of Kapil’s name attached to it, that hasn’t really translated at the box office.
‘Zwigato’ collected around 20 lakhs nett on Friday, while Saturday’s business was marginally better at around 35 lakhs, according to boxoifficeindia.com. In two days, the film has managed to collect around 55 lakhs nett. The film’s business will have to see a miraculous jump on Sunday for it to have a somewhat respectable weekend, because the first two days’ numbers are quite low.
The Kapil Sharma starrer faced competition from ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ and also ‘Mrs Chaterjee Vs Norway’. The latter has performed well in Kolkata because of Rani Mukerji. The film’s collection has doubled on Saturday. It collected around 2.50 crores nett and this took the two day total of this film to 3.75 crores.

The increase in the Saturday numbers of ‘Mrs Chattejee Vs Norway’ makes us hope that it will remain good even in the coming days. It set an opening day record in Norway as it collected twice as much as films like ‘Padmavat’ and ‘Pathaan’.
Sunday’s numbers will further decide the fate of these films, but for now, ‘Zwigato’ is certainly not behind ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’.
